D.A.D: Documentary About Dads Set to Hit Festival Circuits Later This Year
A Candid Look Inside Fatherhood Takes Center Stage in First -of-Its Kind Documentary
C. Mendez Productions, Shaniece Entertainment, and GoldenGirl FilmWorks Studios are proud to announce the world premiere of D.A.D: Documentary About Dads, a first-of-its-kind documentary providing unprecedented insight into the current state of fatherhood.
"These brave souls that shared their experiences in fatherhood will open more doors for others who allow fear to run them away from responsibility”, says T. Chynna Littlejohn of GoldenGirl FilmWorks Studios
D.A.D: Documentary About Dads follows the lives of 7 males (Koran, Danny, Richard, Andre, Franklin, Jason & Corry) from all walks of life candidly speaking on the current state of fatherhood in their own relationships. There is no stone unturned as this documentary delves into topics men rarely talk about publicly such as relationships, custody, and labor/delivery to the difficult topics of being labeled “deadbeat”, lacking of child support--emotionally and financially and more.
"By no means is this documentary focused on bashing men and fatherhood. As filmmakers, we wanted to give males the opportunity to be candid and upfront on their experiences or challenges and be a living testimony to younger fathers“, says executive producer Christina Mendez.
D.A.D aims to elevate the stories and relationships between fathers and their children as well as encourage more dialogue between males in similar situations. With support from local and national communities, D.A.D is bringing the subject of fatherhood to the forefront, uncensored and real.
Crystal Shaniece Roman of Shaniece Entertainment adds, "Good, bad or indifferent we gave men the open forum to express themselves on topics that they rarely get to address. We allowed them to tell their story and hear their side in regards to fatherhood."
D.A.D: “Documentary About Dads”, will be screened at a private NYC venue in August in conjunction with its official website launch and will also be submitted to various film festivals nationwide in 2011/2012.
